Welcome and thank you for your interest in my counselling and psychotherapy service. I am a fully qualified counsellor with specialised training in online therapy.
I'm based in Norfolk but wherever you live in the UK, whether it be Oxford, Southampton, Newcastle or Exeter, my services are accessible to you. I provide both short term and long term online therapy to adults.
In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am also a wife, mum and carer for numerous pets. I love nature and wildlife, interests which are easy for me to indulge due to me living in a rural area. I am both a cat and dog person and own far too many books!
I worked for over a decade in the legal world before embarking on a complete change of direction where I studied human development and education. I've always been interested in people and their stories and helping others to have a more meaningful life and that's what led me on to training as a therapist. An important part of my therapy training was that I spent many hours in therapy. That experience helps me to understand what it is like to experience counselling and psychotherapy
My counselling experience includes working for Mind, Cruse Bereavement Care, NHS referred clients, clients referred from a farming charity, and pet bereavement support for the Blue Cross. Additionally, there’s a huge range of issues men and women come to me with in my private practice. A particular area of interest is working with academics such as PhD students, researchers, lecturers and other university staff and also medical staff.
I regularly attend workshops, seminars and courses to keep my skills up to date.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I abide by their codes of ethics. I am also a member of ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online).
I am on a register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. This register was established by the Government to ensure that the public are able to choose safe, ethical and competent professionals.
People come to me for all sorts of reasons. Some are struggling with stress, lack of self confidence, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, loneliness or bereavement or imposter syndrome. Others are haunted by the past, concerned about their future or may be encountering difficulties with health, relationships or work. For some, there is a major issue to be worked through or for others it may be curiosity about themselves – they would like support for personal development or to understand themselves better.
I can provide you with a confidential space where you can discuss and process difficult feelings, establish things you want to change and find ways of making those changes, learn coping strategies and different/more useful ways of thinking.
Please see How I Work for more information.
